Hi. My name is Yvette I was born on the tenth of November 1973 on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Some of my hobbies are reading, travelling, music, roller skating (quads, not blades!), going to the cinema, hanging out with my friends, writing letters and, of course, IRC! I love to go and see live bands at the local gig venue. (which has just been reopened. yay!!!) It is called the Playroom and has been around (technically) since about 1953 or so. The government couldn’t wait to get their hands on it and demolish it since the land it was on (about the size of a pocket handkerchief) is right next to a kids camp school (govt owned, I believe) which is to be developed next year as one of those lovely, sterile apartment blocks. Archie Cox retained rights to the name "the Playroom" and it has now reopened in Broadbeach. It is very new looking but Archie has great contacts so we will still be getting all the big name bands there (as well as a bunch of local bands as often as possible)!!! I also LOVE to travel. I have been to about fifteen or sixteen different countries, and I have to say that my favourite was definitely CANADA! I spent six months travelling Canada and the United States of America in 1999 and hopefully will get back there within the year... I met a whole bunch of people across the states and Canada from the Dalnet #punk chan that I chat in on IRC. That was a LOT of fun, and most of the people I met were really great. You can find me on IRC using the Dalnet server in the #punk chan. My nicks are usually SxDx or ^CailiN^ I have included a link to the Dalnet Punk Page that Aaron (DangBruhY) is currently updating. On this page there is heaps of info about the people who chat in the chan, links to bands, band reviews, links to other punk sites etc. Bands that I like are The Vandals, Bad Religion, Unwritten Law, Buck O Nine, Reel Big Fish, The Offspring, Dead Lazlo’s Place, Less Than Jake, Goldfinger, Rancid, Social Distortion and Mike Ness’ solo stuff, Strung Out, Zebrahead, Wizo, Girls Germs, Fetish Faith No More etc. etc. As you can see, I like that boppy, new wave, melodic, harmonic garage pop punk, ska, a bit of older punkrock (eg. Dead kennedys) etc. I also been playing the violin since I was about seven years old. I like to play stuff from Weddings, Parties, Anything, Van Morrison etc. with my friends Shane (mandolin and acoustic guitar), Jamie (acoustic bass, double bass, harmonica, percussion) and whoever else is there wielding an egg shaker or tambourine… (Jeffro especially is good with the egg shakers and tambourines!)
